PROCESS FOR SUBMITTING A NON-THESIS FINAL PROJECT

A. SUBMISSION OF NON-THESIS FINAL PROJECTS

1. Students must fill out Form A to apply for a non-thesis final project in order to be assigned an advisor.

2. The Program Coordinator provides a recommendation for an academic advisor based on the student’s submitted information

3. Students MUST meet with their academic advisor at least twice, bringing their consultation logbook, to discuss the implementation plan for their Non-Thesis Final Project

4. Students begin working on their Non-Thesis Final Project under the guidance of their academic advisor

5. Students complete Form B to request a field assessment or research evaluation by their academic advisor

6. The academic advisor conducts the field assessment or research evaluation and provides a grade and recommendations on Form B

7. Students complete Form C to request an Examiner based on the recommendations in Form B

8. The Program Coordinator assigns a Discussant based on the recommendations on Form B

B. SUBMITTING FORM A

FORM A is the first mandatory step that students must take to secure an advisor, determine a research topic, and identify a research location.

ALUR FORM A

 

  1. Students should contact an academic advisor based on their research topic of interest.

  2. Students and faculty members discuss the research plan, including the determination of the research title and location
  3. Students fill out Form A to submit a proposal for a Non-Thesis Final Project, including the research topic, title, and location based on the discussion with the faculty member

  4. Students contact the company or location where they will conduct their final project and draft a proposal.

  5. Koorpordi provides recommendations for final project advisors based on the information provided by students.

  6. Students may consult with their thesis advisor regarding the preparation of the Research Proposal (if a Research Proposal is required).

  7. Students must obtain the signature of their thesis advisor, with the Academic Advisor and the Thesis Coordination Office (Koorpordi) also signing to confirm approval, on the Final Project Proposal approval form.

 

C. SUBMISSION OF FORM C

Form C is the next step after a student has been assigned an advisor and has drafted a proposal. Form C is required for the examiners or discussants who will evaluate the student’s final project.

 

1. Students must submit the required documents for Form C to the Administrative Office (TU) of the Department of Mining Engineering

     => The requirements for submitting Form C are:

  1. Form C Application Form
  2. Field Assessment Form, completed and signed by the Field Supervisor
  3. Proof of active student status
  4. Student’s Course Registration Form (KRS) for the current semester
  5. Transcript of grades


2. The Department of Mining Engineering Administrative Office forwards the Form C application data to the Program Coordinator

3. The Program Coordinator issues a proposal for the examiner, which is then submitted to the Department Chair through the Department of Mining Engineering Administrative Office

4. The Department Chair issues the Supervisor and Reviewer Certification Letters, which are then submitted to the Mining Engineering Department Office

5. The student picks up the Certification Letters at the Mining Engineering Department Office.

6. The student meets with the Supervisor and Reviewer for guidance
